Set up the match your way, once
Enter the clubs, team names and one of 12 hockey kit colours for each side, captains' shirt numbers, up to six match officials, venue and weather. Save it as a template and reuse it next week.

Run the clock, log goals, corners and cards, and track every suspension from your Wear OS watch. Your Android phone stays in your pocket until you need it. Built for club, county and semi-professional field hockey umpires.

A phone in your hand means your eyes are off the play. UmpireApp puts the controls you need every few minutes on a Wear OS watch, and keeps the phone for the moments that need more detail.

An umpire already carries the rules, the positioning and the players' mood. UmpireApp takes the counting and the note-taking off your mind.
Every green and yellow card runs its own countdown. The watch buzzes when a suspension ends, and a full-screen splash shows the returning shirt number. Two players out for two different teams at once is no longer a mental juggling act.
Distinct vibrations at 2 minutes and 10 seconds remaining, and a gentle nudge if the clock is left paused for over 2 minutes. The timer is anchored to real time, so it stays right with the screen off or the app in the background.
Every goal, card, corner and incident is time-stamped as it happens. If the scorebook and the teams disagree afterwards, you have the timeline. Mistakes can be corrected later, and edits are clearly marked.
The disciplinary report fills itself in from the match. Add your narrative by voice or keyboard, sign on screen and export a PDF. The match summary is ready to share straight away.
Built around how a club or county match actually runs, from the coin toss to the post-match review.

During play
Two halves or four quarters, any duration. Warm-up timer, interval timer and stoppage time included. If the phone restarts mid-game, the match picks up where it left off.
Goals by type: field goal, penalty corner, penalty stroke or own goal. Green 2 min, yellow 5 or 10 min, and red, each with a live suspension countdown and alerts.

Logged from the watch for either team, counted on the scoreboard and undoable. An optional 40-second countdown is there for competitions that use it.
Goals, cards and captaincy are linked to shirt numbers. Recent players are one tap away, and you're warned if a goal is credited to a player who is currently suspended.
Start, pause, goals, corners and cards from the watch. Double-tap the score to force a re-sync. If the watch disconnects during a suspension, the phone takes over the countdown and alerts you.
See the watch screensEverything is stored on your phone, and the watch talks to the phone directly. The umpire signals guide and FIH rules reference are built in, and PDFs save to the device without a connection.
Video referrals, penalty strokes, injury stoppages, captain changes and goalkeeper substitutions, each time-stamped. When a captain is carded you're prompted to name an acting captain, and captaincy reverts automatically when they return.
After the whistle
Colour-coded timelines for every game you've umpired. Correct a shirt number or card after the match, search and filter your history, and export as PDF, text or a JSON backup.

Export a PDF match report with the score, penalty corners, format, venue, weather and a full timeline by quarter. Send it straight from your phone by WhatsApp or email, or save it to the device. Add a captain's phone number and the WhatsApp button goes straight to them.

Matches, goals, cards and corners, with per-match averages and a season filter. See how your matches spread across the months and which card reasons come up most.
After each match, rate the difficulty and team behaviour and add notes, by voice if you prefer. Observing a colleague? Assessor mode records time-stamped moments by category and builds a summary at the end of the session.
Penalty strokes or shuffles recorded shot by shot, with sudden death after five rounds. "Set Up Next Match" copies your venue, format and officials for back-to-back tournament games.
Light and dark themes, plus a high-contrast Sunlight Mode for bright afternoons.

UmpireApp has no accounts, no advertising and no cloud storage of your matches. Your data only leaves the phone when you choose to share it.
Matches, reports, assessments, notes, signatures and settings are kept in a local database on your phone.
Players are recorded by shirt number. The app has no player-name fields.
Reports and summaries go out only when you export, email or share them.
The GPS button can fill in the venue name. Coordinates are used for that lookup and not stored.
Voice dictation and the AI Umpire Coach send audio or text to Google Gemini only if you add your own API key. They are switched off during live play. Anonymous crash reports, with no names or match data, help keep the app stable.
Set up your first match in a couple of minutes, pair your watch, and umpire with the clock, the score and every suspension on your wrist.
